Portrait & Text: African American Artists of Dance, Music, & the Written Word

Portrait & Text:  African American Artists of Dance, Music, & the Written Word is currently on view in the Manuscript, Archives and Rare Book Library (MARBL) on the campus of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.  Curated by Kelly Erby and Randall K. Burkett, the exhibit pairs portraits of artists taken by arts patron, Carl Van Vechten, with original documents from MARBL’s African American Collections.  I hope to see the exhibit before it closes on June 30, 2011.  If you are anywhere near Atlanta, I encourage  you to do the same.
