As Seen in Print: African-American Modernists Consider their Reception

The Phillips Museum of Art at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA will host a symposium, “As Seen in Print: African-American Modernists Consider their Reception” on
Saturday, April 2, 2011.  The symposium will feature presentations by abstract artists Ed Clark, Mel Edwards, James Little, Howardena Pindell, and William T. WilliamsKellie Jones, a professor at Columbia University, will deliver a keynote address.

I really wish I could attend because I don’t know a lot about African American abstract artists; but alas I have another commitment.  Nevertheless, if you will be near Lancaster, PA on the 2nd, consider attending.  Reservations are required for this free event.   Complete details are available at http://www.fandm.edu/phillipsmuseum/artist-forum.
