Martin Luther King, Jr.

On this day in 1968, Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his last speech at Mason Temple in Memphis, Tennessee.  King was in Memphis to support the AFSCME sanitation strike.  As you know, he was assassinated the next day.  The full-text of the speech, commonly know as, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” is available here.  You can also view the speech in its entirety via the two links below.  Learn more about King’s work with AFSCME here.
