Free Book Giveaway — Silver Sparrow by Tayari Jones

In April 2006 I saw Tayari Jones and Pearl Cleage on the campus of Duke University.  They were participating in the North Carolina Festival of the Book and their appearance was billed as a conversation between mentor and protégé. Shortly after, I started following Tayari’s blog, which is full of information about topics too varied to delineate here, but suffice it to say, the blog also chronicled the highs (and sometimes lows) of writing and researching her third novel, Silver Sparrow, all while holding down a full-time job teaching at a university, teaching at writers’ retreats and the like, mentoring young writers, going through the tenure process and living what seems to be a fabulous life.
The entries about the novel covered a lot of ground…from the research involved to a last minute title change and everything in between.  So to celebrate the publication of Silver Sparrow, I will be giving away two copies: one print copy and one audiobook (CD)copy.  I wish I could give an e-reader copy, but it seems a little complicated.  If you would like to enter the drawing, please leave your name (or pseudonym) in the comments section and which drawing you want to enter: print or audio, before Friday, May 20, 2011, 11:59 p.m. EST.
